On the 25th June Whitchurch Cricket Club will be celebrating 100 magnificent years of cricket at Parsonage Meadow…. the club invites residents to come along and help them celebrate this wonderful achievement. Anniversary Matches 9.00 am Winchester Warrior League Whitchurch CC – Under 9 vs Titchborne Park CC – Boys

11:00 am Winchester Warrior League Whitchurch CC -Under 11 vs St Mary Bourne CC-Under 11 Boys

2.00pm Anniversary 30/30 Cricket match (incorporating Richard Mallinson XI match)

Anniversary BBQ at 12.45 – all are welcome.

BOOKINGS NOW OPEN for the 3rd North Wessex Downs Walking Festival EXPLORE the ‘BIG CHALK’ with 9 days of walks to suit all ages and abilities.

With 27 events across the North Wessex Downs we invite you to explore more of this fascinating and beautiful landscape – There are opportunities to seek out wildlife or history, visit a working farm, develop your artistic skills – or simply just soak up the stunning views!

Our family-friendly walks at Cocklebury Farm, Savernake Forest and Marlborough provide great opportunities to get younger children outside and learning about the natural world.

Details of all the walks and activities and how to book are on the Festival website, so do take a look and be sure to book your favourites as places on all the walks are limited and last year many events booked up quickly. 

As always we are very grateful to all the volunteers and organisations who are involved in the Walking Festival and make it possible.  Put simply, the festival wouldn’t happen without their help and support.

Andover Gardening Fair – Monday 1st May

Andover Gardening Fair – Monday 1st May

FLOWERS and foliage will fill Andover’s High Street as the popular gardening fair makes a return. The High Street will be filled with an array of colours during the event which returns on Monday, May 1 from 10am to 3pm.

There will be a full day of outdoor activities  and hand-picked local exhibitors will offer a wide selection of plants, gardening ornaments, accessories and gifts for visitors to buy. The knowledgeable stallholders will be happy to chat about their plants and offer their expertise and guidance to green-fingered gardeners as well as those ready to sow seeds for the very first time.

Children can look forward to lots of free activities including storytelling, face painting, seed planting and outdoor games.

There will be live music to enjoy throughout the day and street food and drink stalls will be available to keep everyone feeling refreshed.

The event will be conveniently located in front of the Guildhall, where many of the shops on the High Street and inside the Chantry Centre will be open.

The event is a short walk away from Andover bus station and parking in Andover is also free on bank holidays, making this a great opportunity to pop into town to make the most of the event and support local businesses and organisations.

Bere Mill will be opening their stunning riverside gardens to the public as part of the NGS garden scheme on the following dates….

Admission: Adult: £7.50 Child: Free

All proceeds from the openings go to the National Garden Scheme who support a range of medical charities.
