The Whitchurch Association manages the community website whitchurch.org.uk. This website is managed on a day-to-day basis by a small team of volunteer trustees and residents, known as WACOMMS – Whitchurch Association Communications team.
The remit of this team is three fold:
- to act as an editorial team to ensure content complies with normal standards of acceptability – and to monitor submissions for illegal, abusive or malicious content before publication.
- to maintain the website as a community resource.
- to manage the technical side of the site with additional technical support from 3rd parties where trustees deem this necessary.
Terms and Conditions of Use
Anyone within Whitchurch Parish can be a contributor and submit material.
Content is wholly determined by its contributors within the constraints of acceptable behaviour.
Please note that the website does not accept general business advertising/promotion ads. However, the staging of special events would be considered.
The website does not represent any individuals or organisations and is non-political.

When you submit information to this website the data is retained for as long as is necessary to process a response to your message or request. If you have been registered to this website, we also store the personal information you provide in your user profile.
News articles and events submitted by groups, societies, organisations and individuals are retained on the website, but can be removed at any time following a direct request from the contributor.
8. SECURITY MEASURES
We use the HTTPS (TLS) protocol throughout our site. This encrypts the transmission of data between our web server and your browser so that personally identifiable information is not captured/hijacked by third parties without authorisation.
In case of a data breach, system administrators will immediately take all needed steps to ensure system integrity, will contact affected users and will attempt to reset passwords if needed.

You can request that we erase any of the personal data we have stored. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
