The Love Run – Bin the Incinerator Campaign

The LOVE run is a fun event to raise awareness about the proposed industrial plant: twice the size of Winchester Cathedral that an American company is proposing to build in the countryside 3.5 miles from the centre of Whitchurch. LOVE stands for Linking Our VillagEs, the villages being Longparish and Barton Stacey.

David Wright, Chair of Keep Test Valley Beautiful Steering Committee writes, ‘Over 5500 objections were sent to Wheelabrator during the recent consultation phase which closed on 12th December. The letters include heartfelt pleas from our school children, pages of forensically argued rebuttals and everything in between’.

Cricket Club seeks support for its plans

Whitchurch Cricket Club is a major part of the town’s history and sporting culture, having been founded over 200 years ago. It is now looking to the future and is seeking the views of local people in its planning through a questionnaire.
