Looking for a get together with friends before the festive rush? Join us for afternoon tea in our heated marquee, followed by a guided tour of the Mill.

Surrounded by our picturesque grounds, enjoy a delicious afternoon tea in our festive marquee followed by a group guided tour of the Mill and the chance to see our historical machinery up close.

Sit back and enjoy an afternoon tea with hot drinks and a glass of Prosecco. Selection of sandwiches, a fruit scone with jam & cream and a slice of cake.

Arrival at 1.45pm to be seated for tea at 2pm. Tables may be shared with other parties.

Guided tour of the Mill starts at 3pm and lasts approximately an hour. You will learn about the history of the Mill, Whitchurch Silk and our production processes.

BOOKING ESSENTIAL – To ensure you are seated together, all group bookings need to be made through one transaction.

Craft stalls, handmade gifts, house plants, family games, tombola, children crafts, festive refreshments, raffles and music will all be set up in our Sports Hall! (Cash only please).

Lantern Making Workshop at The Gill Nethercott Centre

Make your own lantern to carry in the Whitchurch Lantern Parade!

Free drop in workshop at the Gill Nethercott Centre between 10am – 4pm. You’ll be taught how to make your own paper and willow lantern ready for you to carry proudly through the streets of Whitchurch at this community event for the whole family to take part in.

The Lantern Parade will leave the Silk Mill at 5pm on the 3rd December and head to the square in time for the Christmas Lights switch on at 6pm.

This event has been organised in collaboration with Whitchurch Silk Mill, the Gill Nethercott Centre, Testbourne Community School and members of the Whitchurch Community.
