Firstly we would like to say a big thank you to every carer, key worker, volunteer and neighbour in our community. Especially we would like to thank all the kind people who have supported Two Rivers practice in Derrydown and Whitchurch since the Covid-19 outbreak began.
Thank you to Gary and others who have delivered hundreds of medications to your doors already. Thank you to the local nurseries, schools, shops and individuals for donating spare protective equipment to help protect our staff. Thank you to all the people who, have made masks for our staff. Thank you for all the kind cards, messages of support, cakes; you all know who you are and you have helped us to keep going!
You are all heroes.
A quick reminder that if you suspect you have COVID-19 then please either google or call 111 initially who have a new service to help you. All the latest advice is online 111.nhs.uk/covid-19. If you need a face to face appointment or visit you will be guided back to the surgery. We have developed hubs and visiting services jointly with other practices in Andover and the surrounding area. Our hub is based next to the Andover Health Centre (SP10 3LB).
We continue to stay open conducting the majority of our consultations now on the phone or video call. We have been busy contacting our patients on the government’s ‘shielding’ list to ensure our most vulnerable patients have all the support they will need for the next few weeks.
We would urge everyone to stay especially healthy during this time. Stay connected. Ask for help. Keep as active as is possible. Try to cut down alcohol intake and stop smoking if possible. One day we will look back and remember this difficult time, for now let’s keep pulling together. We will get through this.
Dan Lickman and all the team at Whitchurch and St Mary Bourne
