Stagecoach have announced that they are enhancing the temporary emergency timetables they introduced as a result of COVID-19.

From Monday 1st June, both the 76 and the 86 routes which serve Whitchurch will have more services to help key workers get to and from work and for other essential journeys.

Most services will return to around 70% of pre-COVID-19 levels.

Enhanced service

The 76 will be running approximately half-hourly to Overton/Basingstoke and hourly to Andover.

In addition a Sunday service is being re-introduced.

The 86 will have 7 services a day, up from 4, and will importantly now have buses in the early morning and early evening periods.

Safety measures
Stagecoach have also put in place a number of measures to keep passengers and drivers safe, including screens to drivers, an Exact Fare only payment scheme (contactless preferred but cash accepted), and enhanced cleaning. Social distancing procedures are now in place with each bus having around 25% of its normal capacity.

In addition passengers are being actively encouraged to use a face covering.

Big Shout out for those running the buses
Those who run the Bus Services are often forgotten for the essential role they undertake in enabling other key workers to reach their workplaces.
As frontline workers drivers are at higher risk during this emergency period, and without the backroom staff could not do their jobs, so … here is a BIG SHOUT OUT from this website to all who help run the bus services. You are not forgotten. ed
