Located metres from Winchester Street, The Millennium Green is arguably the town’s most valuable hidden gem. Covering 7 acres, it’s one of the few sites in Hampshire where members of the public can access an old water meadow which features traditional ditches and sluices.
Enjoyed by visitors of all ages, The Green is also used for large events such as the annual fireworks display and has hosted the Millennium Meadow Forest School and pond dipping days for local children. There is ample seating throughout, spots for picnics and quiet corners where you could while away the hours enjoying the peaceful scenery and wildlife.

The Millennium Green Trust is a charity, managed by local volunteers, who oversee all aspects of the precious space and arrange for any necessary works to be undertaken. This ensures the space will always be available the public, with as few restrictions as possible, all year round.
