Walkers are Welcome ‘Green Week’ Community Litter Pick – Saturday 26th September
Whitchurch Walkers are Welcome are supporting this year’s “Green Week”, with a grand community clear up litter pick and we are encouraging as many Whitchurch residents as possible to get involved and help to smarten up the town.
It is suggested that each individual, or family group in the same Covid-19 “bubble” concentrate on places where they know there is litter to be collected, with a particular focus on the area and pathways near to their own homes. Please take sensible precautions by washing hands, wearing gloves and sensible footwear. Please do not attempt to pick up broken glass or other dangerous items (these can be reported to the Council for safe removal), and do not attempt to litter-pick on roads outside the 30 mph speed limit.
Rubbish bags and a limited number of litter-picking sticks will be available from the car park next to the entrance of the Gill Nethercott Centre between 9.00 am and 10.00 am and we will be on hand here to collect in your full litter bags and borrowed litter picking sticks between 12.00 and 2.00 pm, for removal.
We can all contribute and, by a collective effort, can make a real difference in making our lovely town much tidier.
If you have any questions, or you would like to join in, but the above times are not convenient for you, then please contact Barry Carter on 893216.
We all know that there is litter about in Whitchurch – let’s work together and do something about it!
