Note that Cllr Thacker gave this reason for not living in the electoral region for Whitchurch & Clere: “We lived in the village[of St Mary Bourne] until moving nearer Winchester, due to family health reasons, two years ago.”

Please note, normal admission charges apply, but if you live in Whitchurch for one month only, Good Friday 29 March to 30 April 2013, Whitchurch Silk Mill will be opening its doors free to the residents of Whitchurch. All you have to do to take part in this amazing offer is to bring along a utility bill, driving licence or a council tax bill and you will be given a ‘Mill Discovery Pass’ entitling you to free admission for the whole month. You can come back to see us as many times as you like to see work on the new silks, the spring flowers in the garden, to enjoy the peaceful setting of the tearoom by the River Test for lunch and refreshments and during the school Easter Holidays take part in workshops, family craft activities and trails for which a small charge may apply.
