Whitchurch Town Council is to look at the play area at the Recreation Ground in Alliston Way with an aim of making improvements to both enhance existing provision and to consider equipment for a wider age group.
Funding is available from ‘Developer Contributions’, (known as s.106) and is designated for specific uses within the planning consents. It is administered by Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council as the Planning Authority but Whitchurch can put forward its wishes.
Ideas and views sought
Chairman of the Council, Cllr Fiona Nicolson, is keen that input from local residents is received. This along with the numerous views of young people already collected, will be collated into a wish list for use of the funding.
Cllr Nicolson said:
” We have a wonderful opportunity to provide more inclusive and interactive facilities at Alliston Way, and I urge all to provide their views on what would be best. With funding available these are exciting times and I am passionate to see it used to benefit our present and future generations.”
“Creating a Wish List also allows for suggestions, that may not be achievable at the current time, to be fed into the Neighbourhood Plan when that comes up for review.”
Your feedback is wanted
