SUMMARY:Baxter & Harbron plus Gentile & Wood Perform Live at the Parish Hall
DESCRIPTION:Two wonderful young duos in one evening. \nHelen Gentile & Lewis Wood (Threepenny Bit and Granny’s Attic respectively)\, perform an evocative set of tunes from the balfolk canon on clarinet and fiddle. Their material comprises traditional\, contemporary and original European folk dance music\, with loose\, ever-evolving arrangements creating space for improvisation and showcasing the interplay between the instruments. \nIn 2024\, Gentile and Wood released their first studio album\, Violet Sky\, produced by Tarren’s Alex Garden. Listen to Violet Sky at Bandcamp. \n  \nSam Baxter & Merle Harbron are an Anglo/Scottish duo creating dynamic\, full-bodied arrangements of contemporary and traditional music. Using fiddle\, drones and voice\, the pair build vibrant musical landscapes\, weaving together melodic lines inspired and improvised from traditional songs and dance music. \nThe duo’s debut and self-titled recording\, is the perfect showcase of what they do best – traditional tunes and songs performed with gumption\, nuance\, warmth\, and ferocity.\nListen to Sam Baxter and Merle Harbron at Bandcamp. \nTickets: £16.00 (+£1.25 booking fee)        Under 18yrs: £8 (+£1 booking fee).  Tickets for Baxter & Harbron / Gentile & Wood
