Following Saturdays win against Verwood Town, United were away again on Tuesday evening to Lymington but the team were missing Luke Walker, Scott Hassell and Adam Pearson.
The first half saw even play with opportunities missed on both sides, the Jam Boys must have began to wonder if there would be a breakthrough. Breakthrough there was 1 min into the second half when a corner from James Tennant was volleyed into the goal by Nic Turpin.
Lymington drew even in this now fast moving game when they took advantage of a penalty to score. Just a few minutes later from a free kick taken by Pa Touray which found the box, Ali Brown scored the second. United pulled out the stops, defending well against a push from Lymington.
A corner gave Alex Pickering a chance, he strikes, the ball rebounds and Shane Lock is on hand to put away United’s 3rd goal just 10 minutes from the final whistle putting the game out of the reach of the home team.
Whitchurch United now move up 6th place in the Wessex Premier Division.
