Saturday’s match against Brockenhurst saw the Whitchurch 1st team the strongest side, pretty well throughout the first half of the game at Longmeadow.

There were however missed opportunities on both sides which could have taken the lead. Luke Walker was unfortunate as his long run and final shot went over the bar. Just before half time a long curving shot from a free kick following a foul on Isaac Sedu saw a good save by the Brockenhurst keeper.

The play changed early in the second half with no dominant team, however the the Jam Boys managed to get the goal they had been pressing for when Pa Touray’s free kick found new signing Nic Turpin who headed home a well deserved goal.

Brockenhurst began to put on the pressure and gained the lions share of possession.
United, struggling to hold on, managed until just 2 minutes before the final whistle, in stoppage time, when Brockenhurst finally headed home the equaliser following a free kick.

Final score:
Whitchurch United 1 – Brockenhurst 1
