If you have just got up, far too late, and are looking for something to do today, Whitchurch has a wealth of activities going on – and best of all the sun is out! Here are just a few last minute ideas, but you had better get those skates on…
This afternoon there is music and a TEA PARTY in the Gill Nethercott Centre, when local singing group the Scarlets entertain, raising funds for the Admiral nurses who provide Alzheimers care.
Next door in the SILK MILL there is an exhibition of an original Fortuny dress and jacket, from the famous Italian fashion designer. Why not pop in and enjoy the tea room at the same time.
Or take a walk across the Meadow to Tufton where the Tufton Smallholding is holding its 3rd open day, billed CRAFTY WAYS WITH WOOL. There are demonstrations of spinning and weaving, as well as interaction projects for children. An special attraction will be the presence of alpacas from Watership Alpacas.
In the town’s pubs this weekend, of note is the reopening of the RED HOUSE which is celebrating its refurbishment. On offer is a free glass of bubbly to all diners. There are new restaurant menus as well as an increased bar menu. Remember the new children’s play area with its scramble net and spinners is now also open.
Meanwhile the White Hart is today offering Fish and Chips for just £5.00 to anyone in SHADES AND SHORTS! The same theme continues this evening with a Disco/Party with drinks promotions and a late bar.
And for further choice, over at the King’s Arms there is a GANGSTA v GANGSTER themed Fancy Dress / Disco / karaoke with more fun and music ’til late.
Phew! Then of course there are all the shops, walks, other pubs…
Whitchurch just buzzes.
