With the environment and climate change becoming more important, a GREEN WEEK is being arranged in Whitchurch to help share experiences, and information.
It has been planned to align with the Basingstoke & Deane Borough-wide Green Week.
A programme of events and activities has been collated for the week of Saturday 21st to Sunday 29th of September.
These include already established activities as well as new, with the final Saturday incorporating a ‘Green Fair’ at the Gill Nethercott Centre.
The week includes a talk on a community bio-digester, cycling, walking and public transport events and a photographic competition. The free Saturday afternoon Fair on September 28th will include an exciting variety of stalls which will include demonstrations of Eco-bricks, a Cookery Corner, Cycle safety checks and possible trips in electric cars. Many activities will be ‘hands-on’ and provided by the new Low Waste Whitchurch Group. This event will give the opportunity for sharing both ideas and experiences.
The Week’s provisional programme is here, but more will be added:
