The organisers of the Whitchurch Festival events have announced their exciting programme for 2012, and it looks to be the best yet with a new event also being to the traditional favourites.

It is just under a month to the first event when the Carnival Queen and Princess Selection will be held on Friday 17th February. The evening at the Gill Nethercott Centre will be held in association with the Chill2This Youth Club. May Day will see the Official Crowning on Meadow while a month later the town will will see the annual Pub Race. This year it will be held on the Sunday of the four day Jubilee Holiday, which will be a time full of exciting activities in the town. The Carnival Procession which will finish with the Fete at the Primary School is planned for the first weekend in July, when Olympic fever will be commencing – and its never too early to start thinking about the Procession entries! The new event is at the end of September, when Happy Circus comes to town, a show for the whole family. As the year moves towards its end, Hallowe’en will again see the Bonfire and Fireworks while the final event will be the ‘We’ll Meet Again’ party.

The events are used to raise funds for local Good Causes and it is intended that an announcement on the funds raised in 2011 will be made within the next few weeks.
