A group of local residents have started a Community Support Group to assist anyone who may find themselves needing to Self-isolate.
On Friday morning a small group met to get the ball rolling and within just a couple of hours over 250 people had registered as members on its new social media support page, As this is written it is heading towards 400.
What is offered:
As the Coronavirus spreads some may have difficulties in doing their shopping, collecting prescriptions, taking the dog out, or even needing a loo roll.
Whether it is yourself self-isolating or if you know someone else who needs support, a Facebook social media page is now available and a dedicated telephone line will come into use next week.
If you need some help, and also if you would like to volunteer please contact:
The telephone will be in use from next week – 0740 703 2131 (it will be announced when this goes live)
However, please note that this volunteer group cannot provide any medical/healthcare advice and does not have access to any medical professionals.
The published National Guidelines are available here:
There are also a number of other excellent local agencies that can help and which have a lot of expertise such as Whitchurch Neighbourcare, All Hallows Visiting Team and Age Concern. If any other groups or organisations are offering help they can promote their activities and contacts here.
A Poster/Notice has been produced which you can download here for display – all help in doing this would be much appreciated.
WHITCHURCH IS A TOWN WITH A WONDERFUL COMMUNITY SPIRIT.
