Ladies celebrate the magic 10

The Kings Arms Ladies celebrated the start of the new year not with their first victory but with acquiring their 10th point of the season when losing 8-1 away to the George Doors. The point was also something to celebrate for Ali Love who won her first singles game of the season. Surely it wont be long before they win their first match as they can all play on their day, not that it bothers them as long as they have a good night out.

Double Shots

The Shots in the Hart completed the double over the Kings Missfits with a narrow 5-4 away win to cement their 2nd place position in the league. The Missfits took an early 2-0 lead with Josh Harper recording yet another win. But a 5 game winning run for the Shots saw them off with singles wins leader Paul Eastman continuing his form. Missfits took the final two pairs games as a consolation.

Potters out-potted

WSSC ran out 6-3 winners over The Hairy Potters to take a comfortable 11 point lead at the top of the table with a game in hand. Wins for captain Rob Minall and Alan Phippen (Chino to his friends) saw the two club players keep up their chase for the most singles wins title. The only singles winner for the Potters was Dirk Marsh who is also challenging for the single wins. Last years winner Kevin Birks lost for only the second time this season, to a young improving Richard Sopp, to fall back into the pack on the leaderboard.
