The special Boxing Day Walk from the Gill Nethercott Centre arranged by the Walking for Health Group ended up rather wet – but was thoroughly enjoyable and provided an opportunity to wash away any guilt of perhaps earlier over-indulgence.

The circular walk, planned by leader Charmaine first took the lovely path beside the river from All Hallows to Fulling Mill where the wonderful Fairy House and its decorations could be seen.
The Millennium Meadow was crossed before heading down to Tufton and passing St Mary’s Church and the River Test, followed by some more muddy paths under the old railway line and across the fields back towards Whitchurch.
Finally the route passed the cemetery where the bank for wildflowers could be seen before passing the old railway station and into town.
Then the rain eased
The route of just three miles was completed just before the rain – err – typically eased off!
It was most enjoyable though.
New Year’s Day Walk
