NP Logo Badge smWhitchurch Neighbourhood Plan is taking a step closer to realisation with the announcement of the date for the Referendum. All residents on the electoral roll in the parish will be able to cast their vote.

The Referendum will be held on Thursday 14th September 2017 between 7am and 10pm at the Gill Nethercott Centre.

The question asked in the Referendum will be:

“Do you want Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Whitchurch to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

The Plan, which has been through extensive local consultation by the Whitchurch Town Council’s Neighbourhood Plan team, sets out the vision for the future of the Parish of Whitchurch.
No longer is this about consultation; that has already taken place over the last two years. This is now about local people making their Decision on the future of Whitchurch.

Chairman of the Whitchurch Town Council, Cllr John Buckley, said:

“I believe the team, has put together a well constructed vision based on extensive local consultations. All residents are urged to take part in this important vote. The outcome will have an enormous impact on our wonderful town’s character, its community, and on future generations.”
