75 years ago on 8th May the terrible conflicts of the Second World War came to an end in Europe.
To commemorate this important time of VE Day 75, an international celebration is taking place. Events that celebrate the beginning of the peace, as well as remembering the sacrifices made by many, are taking place worldwide.
Friday 8th May has been designated as a BANK HOLIDAY with extended licensing hours to enable wide celebrations within communities and by friends, organisations and public bodies to take place.
It is believed there are events already being planned around the area.
Whitchurch Town Council is also asking how it too could mark the Anniversary.
