How good are your carrots, beetroot and chrysanthemums? How well-looked after is your vegetable patch? Can your turnips roar past the opposition to take the chequered flag or will they limp into the pits like overcooked cabbage?

A competition announced for local allotment holders with the first prize to be sponsored by former World Champion racing driver Jody Scheckter who now runs the highly esteemed Laverstoke Park Farm.

Meeting
The formal launch of the competition will take place at a meeting of Whitchurch Town Council allotment holders, to be held in the Town Hall on Tuesday 13th March, 7.00pm – 9.00pm
This meeting will also cover a number of other issues ranging from security to plant/seed swaps, and there may be discussion on a possible Allotment Association.
