The morning dawned bright and sunny, for the second day of Whitchurch’s first GreenAware Week.
Whitchurch Arts and Sustainability Forum supporters met on the Millennium Meadow for the ‘Trashy Tree’ – a fun recycled art project, dubbed a ‘Tree-Mend-Us’ sculpture.
Soon a shape was taking place with appropriately an old exhaust pipe as the centre support, a clothes whirlygig, cak bands, and all manner of what many would simply term “rubbish”.
By the end of the day the ‘Tree’ had become an impressive finale to the weekend, a true artistic use of old materials – recycling rubbish into an art form.
The meadow smiled!
