Tomorrow (Monday) the local Whitchurch train services which are already amended for the autumn ‘Leaves’ timetable, also see the start of several months of Monday to Thursday replacement buses in the evenings.
But there is more, as the anticipated incoming bad weather gets closer.
This afternoon South West Trains issued the following statement:
We advising passengers not to travel tomorrow (Monday 28 October 2013) as weather forecasters warn of hurricane-force winds and heavy rain across the south of the country.
We will be operating a significantly reduced timetable on Monday, with the majority of services not expected to run until at least 0800.
In addition they say:
Across the network, trains will run at a maximum of 50mph as a safety measure in case of obstructions on the tracks. This will result in extended journey times on services.
Meanwhile the ‘storm’ moves towards us.
