Last night’s planning meeting for the forthcoming Whitchurch Town Plan moved the exercise a step closer to holding wider public consultations when the steering group met at the Town Hall to discuss the next stages.
The Future for Whitchurch
The community plan will be setting the future for the town – but to do so it needs input from all residents, organisations, businesses, and special interest groups.
Everyone can, and should, have a say.
At present the main areas under consideration are Social & Community, Business & Economy, Transport & Access, and Environment, but these of course may change and the creation of the Plan develops.
Moving towards consultation
The group is starting to look at the process which will include Questionnaires, Open Public Meetings, and possibly Focus Groups. Liaison with other locations within the Borough that have already produced such plans is also underway to learn what has and hasn’t worked.
The group is working closely with the Whitchurch Town Council on this who are being very supportive.
