The former bank premises are to be used as accommodation for the Town Council and will provide improved facilities for the Town Clerks within the historic Grade II* Listed Building.
Presently access to the Clerks’ upstairs office is by way of a narrow and difficult to negotiate staircase. As well as the better working environment, access for the public will also be much improved.
There will also be a new access way from the offices into the adjacent existing meeting room.
The works are being carried out by local building contractors B.Jackman Ltd.
