A new charity music event comes to Whitchurch this weekend which will include a very special tribute to some local friends. ‘Dead by Dawn’ kicks off at 6.30pm at Testbourne on Saturday evening.
A great line up of local acts have been brought together to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care, the charity that helps the terminally ill.
The confirmed line up is:
- The Have it Your Ways
- We Deny
- Hannah and the Anonymous
- Ryan Messer
AND….it’s HALLOWEEN so get your brooms out the cupboard, your sheets off the bed and over your head, smother yourself in red dye, paint your face green, place those horns on your head, and get ready to enter the competition for THE BEST FANCY DRESS!
A very special feature will take place with a minute’s applause.
One of the organisers, Ben van Rensburg, explains:
The minutes applause will primarily be…
For our good friend Jota Psyurgen Crismann, who sadly passed away last week aged just 21, he was loved by so many. A keen spiritualist and with a genuine love for life and people, he was such a kind, loving, happy go lucky guy who would always light up a room with his kind nature and energetic happiness.
For my sister Alexandra who passed away so tragically in 2006 after a short illness aged just 15 who’s smile, curiousity, innocence and infectious happiness touched everyone she met, and
For Gavin Kirby, a true Whitchurch legend of my generation who left us far to soon in 2002. He was naturally good at anything he put his hand to, a role model for the younger kids in the town and a true gentleman who left behind a legacy of fond memories and cherished friends.
The applause is extended to everyone who knew these people, but also those who who have ever, or have ever known anyone who has lost someone dear in their lives and its a small chance to pay a fitting tribute to wonderful people who sadly couldn’t attend the event, but we will always have them in our hearts and memories.
So lets raise the roof, clap and cheer so loud that up in heaven they can hear us, and they will be so proud of all of us.
Entry is just £4.00 and the event starts at 6.30pm
There will be a bar, and those 18 and over will need to provide ID to obtain a wristband.

Other events over the weekend include a local Football Match, an Art Show, an Ozzy Disco, Afternoon Pub Music and a Pub Quiz.
