While many have enjoyed sight of the the Olympic Torch being carried through our nearby towns, one Whitchurch resident has the honour of carrying it on a leg in Dorset.
This evening 23-year old Alex Bright will be proudly carrying the flame through Wyke Regis on a leg commencing at 6.14pm
Alex’s nomination story
I aim to assist the Metropolitan Police Service with policing the Olympics, and other major events to keep London safe. I have already assisted with policing events such as the Royal Wedding in April, and the recent riots during this week, volunteering my time, for free, to make Londoners feel safe as they go about their life.
I intend to continue to assist the Metropolitan Police Service in my role as a Special Constable, and my goal is to make London safe again, and bring it back to the law abiding people.
All Whitchurch is behind you Alex and proud of the efforts you are making.
