The Jam Boys travelled south for Saturdays game against Verwood on what turned out to be a damp and dreary afternoon.

Verwood Town 0 – Whitchurch United 1

A fortunate goal delights supporters
With the team not in shining form either, they were fortunate 16 minutes into the game when a Shane Lock cross found Curtis Angel whose shot rebounded off the goalkeeper. Nic Turpin was on hand to mop it up and scored, much to the delight of the supporters who travelled to see the game.

Tough talking
The first half saw United playing below the standard which has become the norm, although following some tough talking in the dressing room they came out and dug into the game, dominating much of the play during the second half.

Scott Hassle was taken off and Tom Pemberton came on, Adam Pearson followed being replaced by Louis Macey, however United did not not manage to increase their lead and at the final whistle the score remained at 1- 0.
They should be happy with three more points on the score sheet.

Next match
United meet Lymington away on Tuesday evening (10th December) and with Scott Hassle and Adam Pearson both suffering ham string injuries from Saturdays match manager Jim Macey has his work cut out to continue the winning streak Whitchurch United are enjoying.
