Whitchurch Town Mayor Cllr John Clark and the Mayoress Rosemary Crumplin officially cut the ribbon today to open the Veg Patch, the town’s new greengrocer in London Street.

The shop was an fantastic array of fresh and colourful fruit, salads and vegetables, all at competitive prices, bringing a much needed service to Whitchurch. If you want a single stick of rhubarb or enough to feed a ravenous family for a week then this is the place to come.
The £500 Winning Ticket is drawn.
The Mayoress then drew the first ticket in the first Prize Draw – breaths were held before the announcement that the £500 had been won by the ticket held by Cliff and Molly Morgan, who will be delighted! Further draws are to follow too.
A ‘proper’ shop…

Nev Bright told the town website that the first week had been good – “Turning Back Time” was how he enthusiastically described the concept of providing good customer-focussed old-fashioned service.
Cllr Clark said it was “good to see a proper veg shop in the town” adding that he “wished it every success”.
