New to Whitchurch is a health and well-being drop in hub which is being held in the Gill Nethercott Centre on Friday nights from 6-7.30pm. This is run by Youth Workers from Basingstoke Voluntary Services.

Support and activities for young people
The hub is aimed at young people and is a place where they can feel safe and secure. It offers support, advice and guidance on a wide variety of issues including self esteem, bullying, eating disorders, alcohol and substance abuse, smoking, self harm and other issues. It will also be running activities alongside this such as DJ Workshops, Arts and crafts, etc.

Relaxed and chilled out
It has a relaxed and chilled out atmosphere where young people are made to feel welcome and can discuss issues or concerns in confidence.

Youth worker Jason and his team will also be offering support to local Youth club ‘Chill to this’ and undertaking detached work in Whitchurch which involves talking to young people on the streets about activities and services they want set up in the area and encouraging them to get involved in their local community.

Positive impact
The Hub is looking forward to working with the community and hopes to make a positive impact to the local Youth and the residents of Whitchurch.
