The Butcher’s Babes did it again in the Race For Life.
This is the second year in succession that they have taken part.

In extremely hot conditions in Southampton on Sunday (14th July) the team’s fastest runner was Sue Adams, who completed the 5K in 28 minutes!

The team were running in memory of local Whitchurch butcher John Dennett, who sadly lost his battle with cancer last year.
Many of the team have also lost friends and family to this dreadful disease, or know friends or family who are currently affected by it, so were running for them too.

The team say:

“Many, many thanks to all who have sponsored us and helped us raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
The total on our website is currently over £1600, with more money still to come in from sponsors”

Well done to the team for managing to complete the course without expiring from the heat which was close to 30ºC.

The photos are of the victorious team at a celebratory BBQ.
