Casual Lifeguards needed to ensure we can open fully this summer!

The outdoor pool at Testbourne School is a much loved local facility and enjoyed by many in the summer months.

We are really keen to see the pool open to the public  every day this year, after school and during the day and weekends in July/August.  In addition to general swim sessions we really want to offer the local community the choice to come along and enjoy a variety of sessions which may include  splash play, Over 55s, pool parties, parent & toddler swim and fun with inflatables.

To make this happen we urgently need CASUAL LIFEGUARDS!  Legislation says that we must have 1 Lifeguard to every 20 people (that includes non- swim poolside too!)  Many of our previous Lifeguards have moved on and are unable to help out this year.    We are advertising as much as possible throughout the area,  a number of flyers have been distributed around and we are spreading the word.

To become a Lifeguard you need to be 16 years or over (no upper age limit!) and you will need to undertake a qualification called NPLQ.  This equates to 36 hours training which will be provided free of charge by Testbourne.

If you know of anyone, perhaps someone who is retired or a young person looking for part time summer work then please get in touch!   We really do need more staff to ensure the Pool has optimum use in the summer and can be enjoyed, safely,  by the local community.
