Local complementary therapist Elizabeth Baldwin will be heading off to Sarajevo this autumn to work with war victims. At home, here in Whitchurch, she runs “Reiki Heal” and specialises in Reiki treatments and tuition. She is currently studying reflexology too and hopes to complete this course in September.
Elizabeth will be making good use of her therapy skills by heading off to Bosnia-Herzegovina for two weeks as part of the Healing Hands Network. This charity sends qualified and experienced volunteer complementary therapists to Sarajevo to treat people who lived through the longest siege in modern European history.
HELPING SIEGE VICTIMS
Elizabeth will be providing Reiki and Reflexology treatments to neglected victims of the hidden horrors of this disaster, especially those who have lost their homes and families, lost limbs, been raped or tortured, suffered in concentration camps, have no hope, and generally need help long after front line aid workers have left.
To be able to fund her trip, Elizabeth needs to raise at least £750. Having grown up by the River Test, she has decided to do a sponsored walk and bicycle ride of the Test Way. This is about 44 miles long, running from Totton, on the edge of the Solent, to Inkpen Beacon. She is going to attempt to complete this over one weekend in August.
Elizabeth has set up a sponsorship page online – HERE – where you can support Elizabeth and this worthwhile cause. Every penny counts so please visit this site and back her for this event. Alternatively, if you would like to support Elizabeth but would rather give a cash or cheque donation, please contact her directly at email@example.com so that this can be arranged. Note: The email goes direct to Elizabeth, not to this website.
