Planning for the second GTSkateFest took a step forward this week. The event, held at the Daniel Road QEII Jubilee Field, is again been organised by the young people of Whitchurch, led by local student Emma Sherman.
Emma’s enthusiasm for the event is astounding, and it is catching!

Provisional Programme
At a meeting held earlier this week the provisional programme based around skatepark activities, and featuring local live music was announced.
Planned for Saturday 20th July the event will be held throughout the afternoon with displays, competitions and other attractions, with skates, skateboards, scooters and BMX all being catered for.

Local support
Support and assistance is coming from many, including Basingstoke and Deane, local businesses, and local community groups including the Festival Committee. Support has also been sought from the Town Council.

Sponsorship
Finance is of course a big issue and if anyone would like to help out, perhaps by sponsoring part of the event, or a particular attraction on the day, please make contact. Funds are required for licenses, insurance and equipment such as staging, as well as help with transport and site management.
Sponsorship offers can be made through the town website, by emailing: contact@whitchurch.org.uk
