There was a “serious crash” this morning on the B3400¬†between Wells Lane, Whitchurch and the B3048 at Hurstbourne Priors. The road was closed, causing traffic to queue both ways.

The police have issued this appeal:

Were you driving on the B3400 between Andover and Whitchurch this morning?
We’re appealing for witnesses following a serious collision around 8.20am. Please call the Whitchurch Roads Policing unit on 101 quoting Operation Orangefrost.
A black Subaru heading towards Whitchurch was in collision with a white Toyota travelling in the opposite direction.
The Subaru driver has been taken by air-ambulance to Southampton General Hospital with what are described as life threatening injuries. The Toyota driver suffered serious injuries and has been taken to Basingstoke and North Hampshire hospital by road.
