Creativity can take many forms, a principle enshrined within the philosophy of local organisation Whitchurch Arts, which describes itself as:

The Award can be given to an individual, or a group, in recognition of their creative contributions. Winners are to be an inspiration to people in Whitchurch and further afield. The Award is also supported by Whitchurch Town Council.
Anyone can make nominations for the Award; anyone can be nominated, and there are no barriers to the type of creativity or age of recipient – music, painting, dance, photography, writing, poetry, sculpture, street art, textiles, film, drawing, design, theatre; all areas are eligible. The final selection of the winner is made by Whitchurch Arts members.
Previous winners have been Richard Adams, author of many books including Watership Down, and Peter Honri, actor and music hall entertainer.
