The 1st Whitchurch Scout Group held a fundraiser on Saturday 14th May 2011. The Scouts set up a bouncy castle and food stall on the front lawn of the Silk Mill, plus had many items for sale, and up for grabs in raffles, inside the Gill Nethercott Centre.

The highlight of the day was the series of duck races down the tributary that leads to the Silk Mill’s water wheel – Scouts with nets were deployed to catch any duckie that tried to make a break downstream!

The Scouts’ goal was to raise funds for a trip to Denmark in late July, to coincide with the World Scout Jamboree that is taking place in neighbouring Sweden; Two Whitchurch youths will be taking part in the Jamboree. See previous story on that HERE.
