Andrew Reeves-Hall (chairman Whitchurch Arts), Richard Adams (author), Sir George Young Bt. (MP), Steve Miller (artist) present a gift at Richard's 90th birthday celebration

The author of numerous books, including the world-famous Watership Down, and local resident, Richard Adams celebrated his 90th birthday at a party held in his honour by Whitchurch Arts at the White Hart. He was given a painting of himself created by local artist Steve Miller.

Newly re-elected Sir George Young Bt, MP, congratulated Richard on his many accomplishments throughout his life. Richard thanked everyone, expressing his sincere appreciation to all those in Whitchurch, his home for the past 28 years. He wrote a poem about the town especially for this gathering – it and a full write-up with photos of the occasion are at the Whitchurch Arts website.
