Work continuing at the old Methodist Chapel.

Many have been watching the very comprehensive conversion of the old historic Methodist Chapel in London Street that had become an eyesore and fallen into disrepair.
The care over the refurbishment and the design is turning the almost derelict building into a welcome benefit for the town as a ‘state of the art engineering design centre’ for 3form Design.

However there has been an element of criticism lodged, particularly over the wall that replaces the hedge on the corner of Test Road and how it affects sightlines for traffic.

Senior Partner and ‘Chapel architect’ at 3fD, Austen Miller, has written an Open Letter to the people of Whitchurch explaining the works that have been carried out.

A blog has also been produced which includes much very interesting information on the work being carried out and the efforts to ensure a good design that is both functional and also enhance the street scene.
