This afternoon organiser Rob Dunlop and his Festival team have unfortunately taken the decision to postpone the Carnival Procession and Fete.

With a weather forecast set to rain they have sent the following message:

Dear All,

Unfortunately I have to announce the postponement of tomorrow’s Carnival Procession and Fete (Sat 7th July, 2012) due to the recent and forecast weather.
We are looking to reschedule the entire event for later in the year and will confirm the date ASAP.

This is not a decision we have taken lightly and, after considering all aspects from road-safety to the personal health and safety of all the participants and public alike, we feel it is a very unfortunate but sensible and correct decision. We have also received confirmation from the Whitchurch Primary School Caretaker that, due to the recent heavy rain, the Primary School playing field would not be able to safely support the public and vehicular traffic generated by the Carnival Fete.

As mentioned above, we will be looking to reschedule the entire event (Procession and Fete) within the next couple of months and will confirm to you all ASAP.

If you have and questions or queries regarding this postponement please feel free to contact me using any of the methods listed below.

Thank You,

Rob Dunlop
