The Whitchurch Parish Hall in London Street has now reopened after its extensive refurbishment which has seen many improvements.
With a new kitchen, toilets, floors, windows and lighting the hall looks wonderful and is now looking to extend its use.
Enjoyed by all
Moviola ran the first event with the showing of the film Jane Eyre when the Hall opened on the Christmas Lights and Shopping evening. Those attending enjoyed the new facilities as well as the screening of Charlotte Bronte’s romantic novel.
Last Saturday the Hall was used for the third Whitchurch Festival ‘We’ll Meet Again’ party with nearly 100 local residents enjoying the event. See our report and pictures HERE
Wide range of uses
Many more uses are planned, ranging from use for sales presentations and meetings to parties and family celebrations.
The Parish Hall holds a special place in the hearts of many and it is wonderful to see the investment that has been made for its future. The Committee are still seeking further funds as the amount required to complete the works is £132,000. In addition a call has gone out for donations towards purchasing comfortable chairs.
The trustees are also looking for new faces to help run the facility and have announced that the Annual General Meeting is at 7pm on Friday 16th December.
So if you can help pop along.
(It is hoped there is no confusion as the Parish Magazine said it was on the 7th December).
As a registered charity the Hall is governed by the rules of the Charity Commission and it is hoped that the Constitution (or Schedule), which shows how it is to be run for the people of Whitchurch, will be available at the AGM for discussion and acceptance.
