The Whitchurch Parish Hall has closed this week for approximately three months while refurbishments are carried out. The plans are that it reopens before the end of the year.
The London Street premises, which belong to the town, have a history stretching back 100 years and have been used for a wide range of activities from jumble sales and markets, to talks and private functions.
The present Trustees took over running the Hall when it was sold in June 2010, and announced the improvements at the last AGM, a year ago. These include a new kitchen, disabled toilets, flooring, windows, film facilities and other general upgrades.
The report on that is HERE.
The organisations presently using the hall have had to relocate and with the Methodist Church and the Gill Nethercott Centre providing alternative accommodation they can continue their activities.
Letters on the Parish Hall’s future use have been received and are ??HERE.
