Wild Flower Turf at the Mill, 20 Oct 2012

What a wonderful day at the Mill: a misty morning cleared to the sight of Marion and other Friends of Whitchurch Silk Mill volunteers laying some wildflower turf, generously donated by Wildflower Turf in nearby Ashe Warren.

This turf would be special enough at the best of times, but this has been donated to the Mill as it was the surplus from the Olympic Park and a certain opening ceremony this year.

The Silk Mill are very grateful to Wildflower Turf for their immense generosity, and very pleased to meet Claire from Wildflower Turf, who was also at the Mill this morning to tell the Friends more about the wildflower varieties that everyone will be able to see next spring.
Look forward to Ox-eye Daisies, Red Campion, Lesser Knapweed, Ragged Robin, Meadowsweet and many more!

You can read more about Wildflower Turf and the wildflower varieties on their WEBSITE

The Friends plant the Olympic wildflower turf.
