Many residents and shop owners have been reporting that their Internet service was not working at all on Thursday, or was much slower than normal. Some report that service was restored, at least partially, today.

The irony was not lost on folks trying to win BT’s ‘Race to Infinity’ for a faster broadband upgrade to the telephone exchange – just getting a connection would be welcome, let alone speeds nearing infinity!

Inquiries to BT have been made by the Faster Broadband Campaign team, however no reason for this major fault has been given officially. Further news on this when it is received.

UPDATE Monday 14th December – We are receiving reports that there are still quite a few problems being experienced in the area, from very slow connections to none at all.
