Beat 5 Monthly Update for August  2011

PRIORITY 1 – You Said – Ensure drivers keep to the speed limits in and out of entrances to Whitchurch, St Mary Bourne and Hurstbourne Priors.

We Did

PCSO Wendy EAGLESTONE and PC Paula DEERY have completed speed enforcement at the entrances to Whitchurch, St Mary Bourne and Hurstbourne Priors.

There has been four road traffic collisions which resulted in damage to vehicles . These occurred in London Street, Church Street in Whitchurch and Tufton.

PRIORITY 2 – You Said – Engage with the young people and tackling under age drinking and Anti Social behaviour in Whitchurch

We Did

There have been two reports of anti social behaviour in August that relate to juvenile nuisance – one less than in July. These have been in the locations of Andover Road and Bell Street Car Park.

PCSO Wendy EAGLESTONE, PC Paula DEERY and the Safer Neighbourhood Team at Whitchurch Police Station continue to patrol these areas regularly in association with the Community Safety Patrol officers.

Regular patrols are carried at out The Skate Park, Recreation Ground and The Millenium Meadow.

We would like to commend the behaviour of the local youths during the Summer Holiday period.

PRIORITY 3 – You Said – Prevent burglaries to outbuildings (garages and sheds)

There have been no reported breaks to outbuildings this month which is very pleasing.

Positive Action

Operation Chord is now active and being run in your area over the next few weeks.

This operation is targeting criminal activity at night and will see a high number of vehicles being stopped by the police.

Please be patient if you are stopped whilst driving during the evening.

CRIME UPDATE

There has been 11 reported crimes in the three Parishes in August compared to 18 in July.

9 in Whitchurch

2 x Adult Assaults ( One male arrested and charged with both assaults )

1 x Domestic Assault ( One male arrested but no further action taken )

1 x Domestic Harassment ( One male arrested and charged )

2 x Criminal Damage ( Damage to a window in Church Street and to inside a dwelling)

Theft from motor vehicle ( petrol taken )

Burglary to a Dwelling ( Entry gained through insecure rear door and laptop and purse taken.)

1x Obtaining property by Deception

1  in St Mary Bourne / Stoke

Burglary to a Dwelling in St Mary Bourne ( Entry and exit via rear door and handbag  stolen)

1 in Hurstbourne Priors.

Theft of fuel from Vitacress

Any other news and issues.

Wendy has completed beat surgeries in Whitchurch and St Mary Bourne.

The September surgery dates are Tuesday 6th September at Whitchurch Town Hall from 3-4pm and Saturday 17th September at St Mary Bourne Recreation Ground from 10-12 midday.

The next Whitchurch Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators quarterly meeting is on Tuesday 13th September 2011 at 7.30 pm at The White Hart in Whitchurch.
