News from the Neighbourhood Plan
The Neighbourhood Plan is making good progress. The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Committee is now fully formed, with 12 volunteer members, each with responsibility for developing an aspect of the Plan.
We’ve spent November collecting background information and meeting with landowners’ representatives. The meetings have yielded a number of new options for the future growth of the Town, and more meetings are planned for the next few months to better understand the development options available. We’ve also undertaken some preliminary traffic surveys, to provide initial information upon which to base more comprehensive assessments.
The Steering Committee is currently preparing to consult the community on the “Vision” for the future of Whitchurch, and businesses in Whitchurch on their future requirements. We’ll be in contact in the New Year via a series of events and on-line surveys.
The next NPSC Meeting will be on 11th December at 7.30pm at the Town Hall. If you’re interested in the future development of Whitchurch, you’re very welcome to join us.
Meanwhile a competition to design a logo has been organised and a shortlist selected, with the best being worked up into a final graphic, soon to be ‘unveiled’.
