Police are appealing for information and witnesses following an attempted burglary in Whitchurch on Thursday, December 23.

At 4.50am, three men forced their way into the Tesco store in Winchester Street and attempted to steal cigarettes and money from the safe.
They were disturbed by an alarm and left the scene empty handed in a white saloon vehicle.
The three men were all wearing tracksuit bottoms, hooded top, scarves, white trainers.
PC Natalie Stallworthy, from Basingstoke CID, said: “Nothing was taken during this burglary; however damage was caused to the entrance and the internal store doors.
“There have been a series of break ins at commercial premises targeting high value products and money and we are considering whether this burglary is linked to these.
“Did you see or hear anything suspicious early on Thursday morning? If so, please get in touch.”
Anyone with any information should contact PC Stallworthy at Basingstoke police station on 101, via the POLICE WEBSITE or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Many Thanks, Merry Christmas again,
