The registered charity that manages the Meadow – the Whitchurch Millennium Green Trust – are looking to find some volunteers with a variety of different experience to join their board as Trustees.

If you simply have a desire and enthusiasm to help maintain and develop the Meadow then please consider applying. People that have some extra skills are particularly encouraged to apply: financial, grant raising, educational, marketing and horticultural. The minimum commitment is to attend a monthly Trustee meeting which runs from 7:30pm to 9pm. Interviews will take place through April 2012.

SUCCESSION PLANNING

The Secretary of the trust Phillippa Walther-Caine said, “The reason that we are advertising for new Trustees is simply to manage succession planning.  The minimum number is 2 and although we are some way off that figure, a number of the Trustees have been serving for a long time and fresh blood is rarely if ever a bad thing!”

NEW CONSTITUTION

There is also the news that the trustees are working on an update to the charity’s constitution. Presently, they are working with lawyers and the Charity Commission on it. Once the changes are agreed then a special general meeting will be called to get the changes approved.

GOING IN CIRCLES

And if you haven’t been down to the Meadow recently then you should make a point of doing so to see the new log circles!

To learn more, and to apply, please read the details on the Meadow website HERE. You can request a copy of the Meadow charity’s constitution by contacting the secretary through the Meadow website HERE.
