Children enjoy watching the people and machines repaving London St.

Work crews were busy on Sunday morning tearing up the worn-out southern side of London Street from the town centre through to its junction with Test Road.

By lunch, a fresh layer of tarmacadam (Tarmac) had been laid. Work is scheduled to be completed later today and the road re-opened.

Traffic, including buses, has been diverted along Lynch Hill Park. Soon, both sides of Winchester Street will be repaved.

Many machines and people were involved in the work.
